Høringssvar

I live in Laurids Skaus Gade, i.e. very close to the planning zone. I really like the idea to make some improvements in the area, e.g. to use the red archive building as a space for cafés and restaurants. However, the new højhus will change the character of the area substantially. In the short-term, richer people might move to that building. However, experiences from cities where I have lived before (including Berlin) have shown that in the long-run (20 years or so) it will be mostly low-income people who will live in højhuser like this one. Nørrebro already is affected by higher social tensions than several other areas in Copenhagen. Do we really need more of such issues? Moreover, the building will create shadow on many buildings in Jagtvej, and it will create noise in my street. It will also create more traffic. It is very likely to make the area very windy. In sum, I cannot see how this building will positively contribute to the Rantzausgade neighborhood. The only reason why this building is planned here seems to be because a loophole is used: It simply seems to have been forgotten to restrict the height of buildings when the metro stations were planned. I cannot see why our neighborhood should now become the victim of a forgotten height restriction?
